Responsible to the Vice-Principal (Curriculum & Quality)
Responsible for:
1. Preparing for, planning, coordinating and conducting internal and external examinations on the sixth form college site, including re-sits and those for external candidates.
2. The transmission and receipt of EDJ files.
3. 'Schedule 2' examinations entries taught as part of the Adult Continuing Education programme.
4. Arranging and publishing internal and external examination invigilation.
5. Recruitment, training and administration of external invigilators.
6. Making special provision for candidates with learning difficulties (in liaison with the Head of Learning Support).
7. Taking overall responsibility in liaison with the Examinations Assistant at ACE over non-schedule 2 examination entries.
8. Overseeing the work of the Deputy Examinations Officer and the Examinations Assistant employed on the sixth form college site.
9. The distribution of examination results, dealing with queries arising from results, administering re-mark requests and collecting re-sit fees.
10. Checking exam board certificates and arranging for their dispatch to students.
11. Verifying exam data and providing internal and external agencies with accurate data.
12. Circulating incoming information, logging important communications, ordering stationery and other materials and generally ensuring an efficient exams office environment.
13. Maintaining effective and secure systems of storage and retrieval.
14. Following the guidelines and procedures laid down by examination boards.
15. Other duties as reasonably allocated by the Principal.
