We are a member focused organisation. Funded by a mix of membership subscriptions and commercially generated revenue, we aim to be transparent in our affairs. Our Board, which meets on average four times a year, sets our direction and approves major spends.

The Board consists of a principal from each of our nine English regions, a maximum of seven governors and further members who represent the interests of our varied member colleges. Each year our members elect a serving college principal to be our President.

He/she acts as an ambassador for the sector as well as the organisation, and holds the role for a year.

AoC is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee with a national office in London and regional offices around the country. AoC Charitable Trust and our commercial subsidiary, AoC Create, are also based in London.

They are the organisation responsible for managing applications to higher education courses in the UK. Not only do we process more than two million applications for full-time undergraduate courses every year, but we help students to find the right course.

They try to make things run as smoothly as possible by providing innovative online tools which make it easier for students and higher education institutions (HEIs) to manage applications and offers.
