Curriculum 2000 – major changes to A level and the start of an explosion in exams delivery with the introduction of a modular structure and a move away from a linear model.

The first independent survey was made of the exams officer community at this event and information on the exams officer role, the exam system and the impact on educational outcomes. The EOA has provided an independent view of the exams system and shared this with all stakeholders involved with education over the past 20 years.

Andrew Harland started his MSc research at the University of Reading on ‘Change in Education’ with his key focus in exams delivery, a topic which had never been addressed before in any education or exam research project. This became the core material for the whole government National Assessment Agency (NAA) modernisation programnme (2004 - 2007).
