QCDA

The EOA is working in close partnership with Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) to help deliver the examination system in UK schools and colleges. While QCDA focuses on supporting the exams system, the EOA focuses on supporting the individuals that make that system work.

As part of the partnership arrangement the EOA provides:

  • feedback on customer service provision
  • consultation on all aspects of the exams system including publications
  • support and delivery of the QCDA induction program for New Staff
  • support and promotion of the diploma training programme
  • links to the QCDA website for information and updates

in return QCDA provides:

  • support for the EOA’s professional development programme (PDP)
  • promotes the EOA as a professional body to the exam community
  • support for the EOA conferences and other activities were possible
  • links from the QCDA website to the EOA website and services
  • access to supportive tools and resources which support the system

The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) is offering a series of free training days for new exams office staff during the autumn term of 2010.  The training will be most useful to those who joined the exams office in the last 12 months. Important areas of exams administration will be covered, such as making entries, access arrangements, and preparing for and running an exam day.

If you are enrolled on the QCDA induction programme for new exams office staff, you will receive an invitation at the start of the autumn term to register for training.  If you have joined the exams office in the last 12 months and are not registered on the QCDA induction programme, or if you would like to find out more about the training you can do so here: http://www.qcda.gov.uk/qualifications/exams/577.aspx.

The Exam review generator (ERG), Exam policy generator (EPG) and Exam Fees Estimator (EFE) have been improved and re-launched.

While this partnership arrangement is based on the shared objective of delivering a safe, robust and successful exam system, the EOA works along side QCDA as an independent stakeholder. The EOA believes that this type of relationship fosters a greater sense of shared ownership in the successful delivery of present and future exam systems.
