Edexcel request to Exam officers on downloading data 

It has been brought to our attention by members that Edexcel have sent out a directive requesting that all secure material should be downloaded by exams office staff in future and not by subject teaching staff. The main reason being given is to reduce any security risk. However, as some have pointed out, down loading information onto a stick or CD once passed over, is no longer under the control of the exams office and therefore do not see the point in having to do another task which many feel was and is, the responsibility of the teachers concerned.
 

The EOA have taken this issue back to Edexcel and are awaiting a reply but in the meantime can members and non-members please email in their thoughts and experiences on this issue.
