Terms and Conditions of Membership
EXAMINATION OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION (EOA)
The Examination Officers’ Association (known hereafter as the Association) has issued the following terms and conditions for the proper conduct and management of the Association and for the purposes of prescribing conditions of membership. These are the Rules of Membership as from 1st January 2011. 1. The Association considers all applications before approving membership in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of the Association. 2. Please note that all members regardless of category must complete the registration form on this site. There are two categories of EOA membership: Full Members: Full membership is open to all Exam Office Personnel working within a registered centre anywhere in the world. Full members pay an annual subscription fee and have access to all the Association’s benefits and services including the members section of the website. Fully paid up members are entitled to suffix their name with the designation of MEOA and can vote to elect EOA Board members from within the membership. EOA Honouree Members: This category of membership applies to retired Exam Office Personnel who still wish to stay in touch with the Association via newsletters and other communications. There is no subscription applicable to EOA Honouree members and they cannot vote to elect members to the Board. 3. Membership of the Association begins in the month that a member registers ie a member joins and pays their annual subscription in September and will be issued a renewal invoice the following September. 4. The Association supports individual persons within a centre and therefore centres can have more than one registered member. 5. Membership fees. From 1st January 2011 there will be two levels of fees for membership: Renewal of fees for existing members and fees for new members as shown in the following table:

Fees are only applicable to persons with Full membership. These fees will be reviewed annually and members will be advised accordingly if there is any change. 6. It is a members responsibility to inform the EOA office in Reading about any change in contact details or if they no longer hold a post as examinations office staff in a registered exam centre. 7. Membership of the Association may be cancelled at any time by email or by writing to the EOA office. However, all members who do not inform the EOA office of their intentions will be libel for membership fees for that academic year. Refunds for the whole or part of the remaining year’s membership fee will not be given. 8. If your EOA membership is resigned, lapsed or cancelled and you wish to rejoin you may do so but you will not receive the discounted rate if you join within 12 months of the date you cease to be a member. 9. The Association shall be entitled to prevent the use of the name of the Association by any member or impose conditions or regulations on the use of the name of the Association on any member at any time. 10. Members must refrain from using inappropriate (rude, sexist, racist, defamatory, hateful, libellous etc) words or phrases on the website discussion forum. The Association is not obliged to inform an individual member before removing words or comments it deems inappropriate from the forum. 11. In the event of any dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation of these Rules of Membership or as to any question or rights arising from or related to them, the decision of the Association Board of Trustees shall be final and binding upon all members. Other All membership rates are effective from 1 January to 31 December 2011 unless otherwise stated. All terms and conditions are correct as of 1 January 2011.
