The Information Authority

The EOA is working in close partnership with the information authority to help deliver a more effective examination system in UK schools and colleges.

The Examinations Officers Association (EOA) and the information authority work together to ensure that further education data collection processes take account of the interests of the examinations officers in the system.  We do this through consultation with members of the EOA and by ensuring joint involvement on projects affecting both organisations.

One example is the involvement of EOA on the information authority’s F05 sub-group, which was formed to feed back on the impact of bringing forward the date of the end-of-year/final return completed by organisations claiming learner responsive funding from the Young People’s Learning Agency (YPLA) and the Skills Funding Agency.

The information authority also facilitates feconnect - the online network for those working with data in the further education and training system.  This site has been developed by the information authority to provide a community for data users within further education, skills and training to enable better consultation and the opportunity to resolve shared problems.

While this partnership arrangement is based on the shared objective of delivering a safe, robust and successful exam system, the EOA works along side QCDA as an independent stakeholder. The EOA believes that this type of relationship fosters a greater sense of shared ownership in the successful delivery of present and future exam systems.

“Clarification of the term ‘PARTNERSHIP(S)’:

Use of the term ‘partnership(s)’ on the EOA website or any document referred to therein or any arrangement contemplated by that term shall not be construed as creating a partnership for legal purposes between the EOA and any other party concerned for any purpose whatsoever and neither party shall have the power or authority to bind the other party or impose any obligations on it for the benefit of any third party.”
