TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP OF THE EXAMINATION OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATIONThe Examination Officers’ Association (known hereafter as the Association) has made Rules of Membership for the proper conduct and management of the Association and for the purposes of prescribing conditions of membership. These are the Rules of Membership as from 1st October 2007.
1. The Association considers all applications before approving membership in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of the Association. 2. Please note that all members regardless of category must complete the registration form on this site. There are three categories of EOA membership: Full Members:
Full membership is open to all Exam Office Personnel working within a registered centre anywhere in the world. Full members pay an annual subscription fee and have access to all the Association’s benefits and services including the members section of the website. Full members are entitled to suffix their name with the designation of MEOA and can vote to elect EOA Board members from within the membership. Associate Members:
Exam Office Personnel can register as Associate members of the EOA and have limited access to the Association’s benefits and services and although they will receive regular newsletters and information they cannot access the members section of the EOA website. Associate membership is free. Associate members are entitled to suffix their name with the initials AEOA but cannot vote to elect members to the board. EOA Fellows: This category of membership applies to retired Exam Office Personnel who still wish to stay in touch with the Association via newsletters and other communications. There is no subscription applicable to EOA Fellows and they cannot vote to elect members to the Board. 3. Membership of the Association begins in the month that a member registers ie a member joins and pays their annual subscription in September and will be issued a renewal invoice the following September.
4. The Association supports individual persons within a centre and therefore centres can have more than one registered member.
5. Membership fees. From 1st October 2007 there have been two levels of fees for membership: Renewal of fees for existing members and fees for new members as shown in the following table:
Fees are only applicable to persons with Full membership. Associate members and EOA Fellows are not charged and are not eligible to the same benefits as Full members, including access to certain areas of the website. These fees will be reviewed annually and members will be advised accordingly if there is any change.
6. If an additional new member joins from the same centre, thereby taking the centre into the next category of fees as shown in the table above, then the differential will be invoiced at that date. The following year’s payment is explained in this example: · Member 1 applies for membership on 1st December 2008 and is invoiced £60.
· Member 2 from the same centre applies for membership in February 2009 and the additional subscription of £35 will be invoiced on that date.
· The second membership is contained within the first membership and so the overall centre membership is from 1st December 2008 to the 30th November 2009.
· Thereafter the centre/2 individuals will be invoiced a renewal fee by the 1st December 2009 for the following year’s membership.
7. If members contact details change or a member is no longer an examinations officer, we ask that you inform the Association of these changes. Non-members who replace existing members must register separately with the Association via the EOA website.
8. Membership of the Association may be cancelled at any time by email or by writing to us. Refunds for the whole or part of the remaining year’s membership fee will not be given.
9. The Association shall be entitled to prevent the use of the name of the Association by any member or impose conditions and regulations on the use of the name of the Association on any member at any time. 10. Members must refrain from using inappropriate (rude, sexist, racist, defamatory, hateful, libellous etc) words or phrases on the website discussion forum. The Association is not obliged to inform an individual member before removing words or comments it deems inappropriate from the forum. 11. In the event of any dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation of these Rules of Membership or as to any question or rights arising from or related to them, the decision of the Association Board of Trustees shall be final and binding upon all members.
