Change to the messaging timeline on A2C project replacement for EDI Thursday 27 October 2011 Dear Colleague We are pleased to bring you the latest update on the A2C Project. In addition to these emails, you can find out more about the project and the latest developments on the website http://a2c.jcq.org.uk. The key aim of the A2C Project has always been to streamline the content and transfer of operational data that flows between awarding bodies and centres. As the project moves from a development to an implentation phase, details of which can be found on the website, the JCQ has taken the decision to delay the launch of the messaging phase from September 2012 to September 2013. This will ensure a more co-ordinated approach and seamless transfer for centres and examination officers. Please note, this change in date will not impact on any plans you have made and only affects the messaging and not the transport phase of the project. As reported in our last email to you, Avco Systems will continue contacting centres over the coming months to provide details and instructions on how to download the 'migration application'. You do not need to do anything until then. All centres should allow their existing EDI carrier contracts to lapse on 31 August 2012. Centres that have a carrier function that is centrally hosted by their Local Authority should not download the 'migration application' but contact their Local Authority. If you have an urgent enquiry, please email A2C enquiries@jcq.org.uk. Yours faithfully The A2C Project |
