The role of an EOA Trustee

The EOA has members across the UK and worldwide and also provides independent public support and information services to other stakeholders in the community, including non-members.

  • You are elected by your peers to represent their interests and views.
  • You must declare any personal or professional interest. This is to ensure that all members of the Association will be fully represented by their trustees within the education/exam community.
  • You must attend at least three meetings per year. This is usually one a term.
  • Under Charity law this is an unpaid position but all expenses related to your role are paid by the Association.
  • However, it is also possible to undertake some paid activity directly related to the EOA but this must be sanctioned by the Board of Trustees.
  • You will be invited to attend and support other EOA activities, functions and events.
  • You will be encouraged to attend any training in support of your role.
Your key role will be to work at a strategic level to make sure that the EOA continues to represent its members effectively and appropriately. To help you with how you can fulfil your role please look at the following sources of information.
