Passing on the royal wedding feel good factor

This year could be the make or break year for the exams office community as members prepare for this years summer exam period which involves the delivering thousands of diploma students and coping with the new GCSE modules around potential June industrial action by teaching staff.
But some feel that this may not be a bad thing. At last, all will see just what a fantastic job exams office staff do along side their teaching colleagues. Exams office staff have been working away getting on with their role since 2003 when workforce remodelling turned this role over to support staff. This summer once agin will illustrate exams ofice staff demonstrating their ability to continue to deliver their contribution to the education system.
Back in the winter while the press focused on the commentary from the teaching community and the impact of what snow closures might have on teaching programmes should exams not take place, exams office staff were in their centres preparing for exams in their centre. Judging from the response of people across the country, industrial action or not, exams office staff will continue to do play their part while at the same time fully respecting the actions of their teaching colleagues.
And maybe, just maybe, many of the people who do this role will be profiled and supported more holistically as part of the broader educational  community in schools and colleges across the country. What ever the outcome over industrial action, the teaching comunity have assured the EOA that no exams will be affected by such action and that every effort will be made to secure the best environment for all students to complete their exam programme this summer.
