MEOY ‘My exam office Year’ pilot is launchedAfter many years of development finally, the EOA is launching its own Exams Management Tool which will help service the whole exam and education community. It is based upon a very simple principle – instead of exams office staff having to adapt and adopt hundreds of different practices and processes to mirror all the individualistic activities of different awarding organisations (now standing at 186), all the core tasks and activity are now organised around their exam office practice.
It does not matter who the exams office deal with, whatever the level of qualification; what ever change there may be in government strategy or programme, this system allows exams office staff to carry out their core tasks based upon their centre’s needs.
This is an evolving tool which can be changed and added to by users on a regular basis, making sure that the most up to date information and good practice is always incorporated and implemented.
All the updates from the JCQ, FAB, various awarding organisations, EDSU, Ofqual and other stakeholders can be attached to this system so you get the right information, at the right time when you are engaged with a specific task or activity associated with those updates.
If you cannot get out of your centre and get to one of the Network meetings listed on the EOA website Network Tool, you are not alone. You will have all that information and practice at your finger tips. No more hunting through dozens of websites and then trawling through different practices and procedures. At last you can everything in one place, on your own personal desktop which is controlled only by you.
Remember this pilot version in only a sample of what is being developed. The full version will be available by the end of 2012 and it will be based upon your feedback from the pilot being undertaken in every EOA member centre in the UK and abroad over the next few months so that the first version of this Management Tool will have been created by you, to serve your needs and that of your centre.
